Welcome to Goose Goose Duck. Learning begins before memorizing our ABC’s and 123’s. Kids are taught who they are and their place in the world long before they see the inside of a classroom. At Goose Goose Duck we cater to the youngest learners from infant to six years old. They begin to grasp basic concepts that last a lifetime through simple songs, colorful  images and hands on play.

In this digital age, nursery rhymes and kids stories have moved to video. Unfortunately, what is currently available is lacking. In the nursery rhyme of Old MacDonald, there are many engaging videos for youngsters on Youtube. Kids learn Old MacDonald has a farm…

that farms have animals…

different animals can be associated with certain sounds…

what a cow looks like opposed to a pig…

what characteristic animals visually have opposed to people…

They also learn Old MacDonald is a person and what he looks like. But, what happens when toddlers quickly recognize -beyond the adorable singing and dancing baby animals- all the people look alike – and they don’t look like them.

By the time kids reach kindergarten it is understood what is considered normal and what is considered other.

Just as children learn red means stop, green means go they also internalize that light colors represent happiness and goodness.  On the opposite end they internalize dark colors represent anger and evil. In a society where people are systematically categorized by checking a box that boils down to “black” or “white.”  These early images can be silently detrimental.

But, they don’t have to be.

Goose Goose Duck is a hybrid educating and entertaining online platform. We take traditional nursery rhymes and give them a flip. While kids sing and dance to catchy tunes they are introduced to positive images of notable black Americans. The simple videos build an important foundation. Goose Goose Duck is dedicated to helping parents effectively utilize this early learning phase of their kids’ lives to build self confidence in their place in the world.

THE GGD DIFFERENCE

How about a remix of Old McDonald with a nursery rhyme about Robert Lemmons? Bob Lemmons was a genuine Black American cowboy legend. Born 1848, he was known as the greatest Mustanger who ever lived, and used his earning to purchase a 1200 acre ranch. He became a gentleman rancher and an important member of his Texas community. He even used his wealth to financially assist his neighbors of all skin tones during the Great Depression.

You can also bring the learning off the screen with Goose Goose Duck’s activity packs. Mr. Lemmons’ unique style of wrangling made him the most sought after cowboy in the West who became a wealthy gentleman rancher and a pillar in the Texas community he helped found.
